Budget setting timeline
- Public and statutory consultation on draft proposals from 19 October to 10 December 2023
- Overview and Scrutiny Committees receive the draft revenue and capital budget proposals from November with feedback to Cabinet on 13 December 2023
- Budget briefings for political groups and independent members, as required
- Council tax base to be approved by the s151 Officer by January 2024
- Receipt of the final settlement late January / early February 2024
- Recommendation of the final budget by Cabinet on 7 February 2024
- Council set the final budget envelope (statutory determinations) and council tax on 22 February 2024
